As a Certified Annuity Specialist® (CAS®), a Certified Estate and Trust Specialist® (CES®), a Certified Fund Specialist® (CFS®), a Certified Income Specialist®(CIS®), a certified Tax Specialist®(CTM®), and a Retirement Income Certified Professional®, (RICP®) Richard understands the value of having a comprehensive financial plan in place. Financial planning refers to the process of making appropriate decisions concerning one’s wealth in order to pursue one’s goals in life. Financial planning incorporates a holistic planning process, as opposed to only buying products. It can involve a variety of different strategies, but the overall goal is to determine how to invest, how to manage wealth, and how to plan for the future.
In creating a financial plan, he can help his clients establish their short and long term goals in life, determine their assets and liabilities, and evaluate their current financial position. Together, he and the client can develop and implement a plan, focusing on the client’s retirement goals and objectives.
Along with retirement and estate planning, comprehensive financial planning often includes college planning. Many clients who are parents or grandparents may want to plan for future college funding while still saving for retirement. Rather than only focusing on how to plan for college funding, Richard can help his clients determine how to plan for both needs. He frequently assists clients with a 529 plan or other appropriate educational plan, as well as how to plan for both college funding and retirement income.
